Last time I posted fun facts but today I think I'm going to steer back towards my original topic.
Today I'll be talking about how it affects humans.
Dogs who have been exposed to dog fighting are more likely to bite and attack humans because it is what they were raised to do. These dogs are raised to see gangs, voilence, gambleing, and drugs. So it would seen natural to these dogs to bite and attack if they felt pressured. The problem is that as humans when we see a dog we most often want to pet it even if we don't know it's back round. And when we try to pet then the dog may feel pressured and respond by biting the person. Although bites are common for humans so are diseases. There are over 130 diseases that can come from a dog mouth. And these diseases affect humans greatly when they come in contact with a violent dog.

7.Dogs were first domesticated by cavemen
8.A dog’s heart beats up to 120 times per minute, or 50% faster than the average human heartbeat of 80 times per minute

not only fighting dogs
It's also not just the dogs fighting in the rink that are affected, its also so many other animals that are hurt and beaten for the training of the fighting dog. Many smaller house hold pets like small dogs or cats are used as "bait." Cats and dogs are usually stolen and used in bloody training exercises for the training dogs. They die or will die shortly. Also if the dog or cat is known for fighting back they sometimes duck tape their jaws shut and tie their paws together leaving them literally defenseless and an easy target. As I did my research I found an interesting dog story that I would like to share
There was a dog named sweetie she was bait for these fighting dogs but did not suffer from death although she did suffer from major starvation. She would often be tied up to a tread mill and stayed on there running until she was needed for bait. and if she stopped running she would be straggled from falling behind or get major road rash from the treadmill. With no food and lots of exercise she would have been done if it wasn't for a police officer who heard her yelping and went to go save her. When she arrived at the vets she was 5.5kg (12lbs) underweight. There was little skin of her and what ever skin they was on her had dog bite imprints on it and her ribs were extremely visual. As the vets gave her food and cared for her she not only gained 2kg (about 5kg) in only 4 days but she also went from being a scared and shy dog to acting like any other dog.
What I'm tryng to say is that saving these animals can be so easy if we put our minds to it.

Most of you can relate to this blog because over half of Canadians have house hold pets, and of those half more then 30 % have dogs. If you can relate to this I want you to picture you're dog. The cute sweet funny dog. Now look at this picture below and imagine your dog like that.
(Warning if you're afraid of blood you probably shouldn't look )

This dog ended up looking like this due to illegal dog fighting. Illegal dog fighting is a gambling game in which people bet on which dog will survive fighting another dog, sometimes to the death.Dog fighting is used for entertainment for sick twisted people.
Now what was the point of that? The point was that over 2000 dogs are put through this kind of injustice. In my opinion dog fighting is one of the most serious forms of animal abuse ever. Most dogs will suffer their entire life from wounds, no love, little food, and constant violence. And if a dog survives a dog fight but still lost, the dog will often be killed by being drowned being strangled, hanged, shoot gun or electrocution. I'm sure that everyone who is reading this has looked at a dog and said "aww it's so cute!"So if we love our pets and animals so much then how come we let these things happen to other dogs. Is it because fighting dogs are only certain breeds that are know to be "violent." There are certain breeds chosen for dog fighting most of the dogs are pit bulls,German shepherds, and Rottweiler's. But its not the dog if the dog is raised in a friendly enviroment are caring place then these animals can be the most loyal and fun pet you could ever have.
