“FREE TO A GOOD HOME”

“FREE TO A GOOD HOME”
4 year old Lab
Great with kids
Moving…can’t keep
Call 555-555-5555

Some one calls and says they would be more then happy to accept the dog. They arrive at your house, you see a loving father and a little boy that looks like the son. The boy says he is more then eager to keep this dog and cuddles up with your lab smileing they drive away with your pet.

So what's the problem??

The dog’s owners may be giving their pet to a wonderful father and his little boy…or, they could be turning their dog over to dog fighters or to “bunchers” posing as a father and taking a kid along as a prop. It happens and it happens every day with cats and dogs.

To limit the risk of having your dog or cat fall into the wrong hands:
  • Never place a “Free to a Good Home Ad” on a web site or in a newspaper.
  • Exhaust every avenue to keep your pet with you. If you are giving your pet to someone you don’t know, visit the home (be sure to put your own safety first) or investigate to make sure the new owner is who you think they are.
  • Don’t let your pet roam free in the neighborhood. Keep your pet on a leash when walking him.
  • Don’t let your pet be visible from the street. Put a padlock on your gate to your backyard to further ensure their safety.
  • Never leave pets unattended at any time.
  • Never leave pets outside a store or in the car to wait for you.
  • Keep identification on your pet at all times – tags, microchips, and/or tattoos.

Contuining A B C's of Dog Fighting??

So as some of you may know a few blog posts ago I did the A B C's of dog fighting and I got a comment saying I should do dogs from A-Z. I have no problem with doing that but.... I have said that I would do the classifications of dog fighing as well. And also I am not sure if I could find dog breeds used in fighting for the more diffult letters like X. Please comment and let me know if I should contuine the A B C's

-thanks :)

STREET

Street:     Street fighters are fights the happen in an informal way. They can be set up in alleys, back yards or any other place that is hidden. Many people who participate in these fights lack even the smallest respect for animals. They often starve and beat them to encourage aggressive behavior. Many of the dogs are not only bred to be aggressive to other dogs but also people. Witch can cause tragic results if the dog gets lose near a community. street fighting is often connected with gangs. If you win a street fight you could be rewarded with drugs money or even just bragging rights.

After the fights are done most dead or almost dead dogs are just left there and police and animal control often find these dogs and have to dispose of them. Street fighting is very hard to stop unless immediately reported.

Different Types

Some of you may not know that there are three types or classifications of dog fighting. They are street, hobbyist, and professional. I will be posting one post per classification to give you info about them.

Terrible People

I wish I could tell you that dog fighting is not happening this very second but that would be a lie. And I wish that I could tell you that there are not terrible people who support this act but there are. One of the people that really interested me was a guy named : Vile Adio Clarke
Clarke had turned his downstairs basement into a dog fighting rink. When police raided his home they found 11 wounded pit bulls. But you see this is not the part that bothers me the most the part, what bothers me is he only went to jail for 4 months. You may think so what? 4 months is kind of a long time, but reader think of it this way you can go to jail because of graffiti for 3 years. 3 YEARS!!!! graffiti can be covered up with paint. Dog wounds can not be covered with paint, dead dogs can not be covered with paint.
In my personal opinion dog fighting is far more of a crime then graffiti. Yet Clarke only went to jail for 4 months where as some one who did graffiti went to jail for 3 years. Shouldn't it be reversed?

What I'm trying to say is that you may think that the people who set up dogs fights are sick people and yes in a way they are but so are many others creating our law who are saying dog fighting is not a real crime for you to do real time.

Reader I want to know is ink on a wall more important then the animals we so love and care for?

One really great website on dog fighting is :

I use this website a lot great info on it!

A Dogs Point of View Poem

I am the dog you killed last night,
After a grueling one hour fight.
What did I do to make you mad?
Was I misbehaving or acting bad?
Why did you abandon me in the end?
You were my master and my friend.
I hope God shows you mercy for me,
Despite your actions, I loved thee.
How do I forget the hell I went through?
Did you ever love and adore me too?
Remember me each moment of the day.
Never let my memory fade away.
Maybe you will finally feel the shame,
For you allowed me to die in vain.
